In ‘The Little Prince’, it’s said that to know someone, grown-ups require numbers: I am 39, I have three daughters, I’ve been married 15 years, I weigh more now than I did back then. There’s the more child-like approach: I sneeze really loud; I say “pardon” instead of “excuse me” or “what” when I can’t hear what someone has said on the phone, which is often; I hate salad and always will no matter how good you say your recipe for dressing is.
I think blogs can be silly, but I’m having a go because I Want to Write. Reading comes second and then maybe cooking or puttering around the garden, but not in July when everything has melted in the hot Georgia sun. I like playing house in our little white one and still slow down the car to stare at it when I come home.
But those are just things I do. Who I am is a girl who loves God and family and friends and thinking long thoughts and never really getting anywhere with them, like a dog chasing its tail and spinning around in circles.
